When exporting data to an external source, it might require an additional string or marketers might want to create one that allows them to track lists back to specific parent segments, segments, campaigns, or dates and times.
When creating a new or copying an existing activation, Treasure Data allows you to use String Builder to add additional strings exported if needed.
- Navigate to Audience Studio.
- Select the segment you want to activate.
- Select Activations.
- Select Output Mapping.
- Select + Add String under String Builder.
- Edit the Output Column Name field. Select from the following value options.

| Timestamp | Date and time of export. |
| Segment Id | The segment Id number. |
| Segment Name | The name of the segment. |
| Audience Id | The parent segment number. |
- Repeat steps 5 and 6 to add additional strings.
- After completing the String Builder, select one of the following:
- Select Run (immediate)
- Save and Run (save the authentication and run)
- Save (don't run it now.)
