Treasure Data continually operates to keep Data Tank 2.0 secure and performant:
- Data Tank 2.0 instances receive periodic maintenance. Maintenance involves updates to the underlying hardware, operating system, and database engine, adding new features, and so on. To check if a patch is available, see the Maintenance tab on the Configuration page.
- Applying a patch may require Data Tank 2.0 instances to be offline. Data Tank 2.0 is back online within several minutes for most patching activities. Note that Data Tank 2.0 may become offline several times intermittently.
The preferred maintenance window is a time window in which Data Tank 2.0 maintenance is performed. The window must be 1 hour or more per week.

- Navigate to Configuration > Maintenance and a patch can be applied immediately or scheduled to be applied during the next maintenance window.
The patch may have a deadline until when it has to be applied. If the patch is not applied before the deadline, it will be forcibly applied in the preferred maintenance window. It is recommended that the patch be scheduled and applied before this deadline.
Treasure Data recommends that you design applications with resilience in mind. For example, your app should retry in an exponential backoff manner when a connection with Treasure Data is not established.
