# Activation Actions Activation Actions is a Beta release. For more information, contact your Customer Success Representative. Before activating (exporting) a segment to an external system, you may want further data processing. For example: * Data transformation * Enhanced profile checks and notifications * Data compliance checks * Differential activation Activation Actions enables you to run a user-defined custom workflow to execute these desired actions during an activation process. An instance of this workflow is triggered automatically during every activation event. The overall status of the activation is tied to this integrated workflow. The activation would have a successful status only when both the activation and triggered workflow are successful. By using a custom workflow within the Activation process, you can extend and customize your data activation capabilities to meet specific operational needs. When Activation Actions are enabled, the standard process of exporting activation results to the external application is modified. For details, see [Activation Actions Data Export](/products/customer-data-platform/audience-studio/activation/activation-actions-data-export). # Current Limitations - **Limitation:** Using [Behavior Activation](/products/customer-data-platform/audience-studio/activation/behavior-activation-overview) or [String Builder](/products/customer-data-platform/audience-studio/activation/create-new-strings-for-export-using-string-builder) with Activation Actions may cause workflows to fail if a column name is duplicated in attributes, behavior, or string-builder. **Workaround:** Change the output column name of the duplicate behavior column in Output Mapping. - **Limitation:** When Activation Actions are enabled, output column names (behavior, attributes, or string-builder) cannot include leading, trailing, or internal spaces. **Workaround:** Edit the output column names in Output Mapping to remove any whitespace.
