Global organizations often have to set up hierarchies for regional teams who need to manage data specific to their region or country. Treasure Data's Delegated Groups allow businesses to organize users into manageable groups and assign a regional administrator (Delegated Admin) to oversee users and policies restricted to that region.
For example, a Delegated Admin in South America, might need to create users with access to databases belonging only to South America. Users in any given region can be given access to only specific policies based on their locale or user group. Leveraging the benefit of Treasure Data's Delegated Groups, business can accomplish the following more readily:
- Establish an administrative hierarchy that meets the organizations global structure.
- Minimize stakeholder mistakes in regions they are not entitled to or granting access to users with limited permissions.
- Enable companies to more easily comply with regional policies that dictate a separation of data, such as General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the California Privacy Protection Act (CCPA).
The settings described in this area may assist your organization in complying with applicable privacy and data protection laws. It is your organization’s responsibility to ensure that your use of Treasure Data’s services (including tools and settings) satisfies legal and policy requirements that apply to your organization.
A TD Admin can create Delegated Groups, choose the policies available to the group members, and assign one or more Delegated Admins for the group.
A Delegated Admin for a group can view group membership and assign the policies that members can access.
