# Adding New Users Treasure Data allows a single unique email per region. If your company requires multiple accounts, for example, for production and development or if you are a systems integrator and need to maintain multiple accounts, follow the Adding Multiple Users guidelines. * [Add a New User](/products/control-panel/security/users/adding-new-users#add-a-new-user) * [Adding Multiple Users](/products/control-panel/security/users/adding-new-users#adding-multiple-users) * [Requirement for Valid Email Addresses for User Accounts](/products/control-panel/security/users/adding-new-users#requirement-for-valid-email-addresses-for-user-accounts) * [Invitation Expired](/products/control-panel/security/users/adding-new-users#invitation-expired) ## Add a New User To add new users to Treasure Data, you send the user an invitation to join. You invite new users on an individual basis. You must be an account owner or administrator to invite a new user to your account. 1. Open TD Console. 2. Navigate to the [Control Panel](/products/control-panel). 3. From the Control Panel, select **Users**. 4. Select + **Add user.** ![](/assets/image2023-8-7_13-29-43.6f24a04d9155c8c8d0f1fe9001038e848be42f596e90772d5e62e841a204c2be.9f549006.png) 1. Type the email address for the user and select **Add user**. ![](/assets/image2023-8-7_13-30-31.a7426751cd2fcf4810e501c99921c8b0e635ff6872e41ba4a53dcf80b29accb2.9f549006.png) 2. If the user already exists but is not visible in your list of users, you receive a message indicating that the invitation is already pending for the user. The Treasure Data system sends an email to the user with a link for them to accept. ## Adding Multiple Users If you use default email/password authentication, Treasure Data CDP prohibits adding the same user email to the same region. For example, if you create “leeyim@treasure-data.com” ” in the US region, Treasure Data CDP prohibits you from adding “leeyim@treasure-data.com” to another account in the US region. If you have a development account and production account in the same region, we recommend the following: “leeyim+alias@treasure-data.com”. Additionally, check if your email service provider supports an alias. If not, we recommend using a mailing list instead of the alias. ### Requirement for Valid Email Addresses for User Accounts To ensure the security and integrity of all user accounts, a valid and working email address is required for every user created on the Treasure Data platform that utilizes email/password authentication. Our system sends critical information, including account invitation and password reset emails, to the email address associated with a user's profile. If the registered email address is not a valid, monitored inbox, users will not be able to complete their account setup or receive important notifications. **Common Scenarios and Solutions:** * **Multiple Environments (e.g., Dev, Prod):** We understand that some users require access to multiple Treasure Data environments. As each account requires a unique email address, we recommend the following: * **Single Sign-On (SSO):** The most secure and recommended solution is to configure SSO for your accounts. This allows users to access multiple environments with the same email address. * **Email Aliases:** If SSO is not an option, your IT department can create a valid email alias (e.g., `user.dev@company.com`) for the user that forwards to their primary inbox. * **Invalid Email Addresses (e.g., using`+` extensions):** Using email addresses with `+` extensions (e.g., `user+dev@company.com`) is not a supported workaround if these are not configured to be receivable by your mail server. Invitation emails sent to such addresses will fail. ## Invitation Expired When a new user is added, a email that subtitle is **Your colleague has invited you to TREASURE DATA** is sent. Although the new user needs to click the link in the email, the link has an expiration date. If it expires, Administrators or Owner must perform the following steps. 1. Delete the new user 2. Add a new user again
