# Setting Policy Based Database Permissions in TD Console Policy-based database permissions allow administrators the ability to set database permissions at the policy level. Assigning permissions per policy accomplishes the following: * More granular database permission assignment * Administration efficiencies for database permissions and users After the policy-based database permission feature is enabled, database access at the user level is no longer available. You cannot revert to the previous database access (legacy). ## Full Access Database Permissions If the policy has full database permissions access, all databases in the account are accessible to the assigned policy users, including the ability to create new databases, manage, and delete existing databases. 1. Open TD Console. 2. Navigate to the **Control Panel** > **Policies**. 3. Select a policy. 4. Select **Permissions.** 5. In Database Workbench, select the pencil icon to edit the policy. 6. Open TD Console. 2. Navigate to the **Control Panel** > **Policies**. 3. Select **Permissions.** 4. Select a policy. 5. In Database Workbench, select the pencil icon to edit the policy. 6. Select **Limited Access**. Open TD Console. 2. Navigate to the **Control Panel** > **Policies**. 3. Select **Permissions.** 4. In Database Workbench, select the pencil icon to edit the policy. 5. Select **Limited Access.** 6. The policy allows a user to create a database, become the database owner, and manage and delete the database (manage own database). ## Limited Access Database Permissions With Download Permissions 1. Open TD Console. 2. Navigate to the **Control Panel** > **Policies**. 3. Select **Permissions.** 4. In Database Workbench, select the pencil icon to edit the policy. 5. Select **Limited Access**. 6. A policy with Download permission allows a user to download databases to which they have access.
