# About Audience Column Visibility Control Audience Column Visibility Control enables Treasure Data administrators to assign different levels of visibility for particular attributes and behaviors of a Parent Segment that ensure compliance with corporate security and privacy requirements. With this feature, administrators can block access to personal identification information (PII) data and prevent marketers from seeing PII by setting up the appropriate visibility access, while at the same time allowing some of those values to be used in segments and activations. For example, an administrator can set a PII attribute of a Parent Segment, such as email, with a visibility type that prevent users from seeing the value of the attribute across Audience Studio, but would continue to allow them to use the value in an email campaign. In other cases, an administrator could set a PII attribute of a Parent Segment with a visibility type that prevents users from seeing that value and prevents them from using the attribute in any way. Audience columns refer to the attributes and behaviors of that Parent Segment. Column visibility types can be set individually for each attribute and behavior of the Parent Segment. You must enable the Audience Column Visibility Control feature to access these security protections. ## Use Cases As a Data Engineer, you can * Designate levels of visibility for certain attributes to be restricted or blocked to comply with security and privacy requirements * Block access to PII data by marketers using this data. * Manage security policy easily when onboarding new teams or users As an Audience Manager, you can * On-board new users (marketers) quickly with the right access to PII in the Audience Studio so they can perform their jobs. * Prevent unauthorized access to PII data in Audience Studio that could jeopardize an ongoing marketing operation As a Marketer, you can * Access Parent Segments in the Audience Studio and use data in a way that complies with my company's security and privacy requirements around PII data.
