Import Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) data such as contact information and campaign event data to the Treasure Data platform to unlock actionable insights and enable advanced customer segmentation to drive personalized customer engagements. There are a few ways to integrate data from SFMC into the TD Console:
- Via the native import connector for SFMC: see here for details of the supported data objects
- Via intermediate storage locations: both SFMC and the TD Console support various options for file-based integrations from an SFTP server to public cloud storage such as Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage, or Microsoft Azure Blob Storage
This article provides the guidelines for using AWS S3 as an intermediate storage to integrate data from SFMC into the TD Console
- Administrative permissions to view and manage File Locations on the SFMC platform
- Access keys for an AWS S3 bucket which has relevant permissions for uploading files
- Select the Setup menu item under your Profile on the SFMC platform

- Select Administration → File Locations, and select Create to create a new File Location

- Name your File Location, and select the Location Type as Amazon Simple Storage Service

- Fill in the access key information of the AWS S3 bucket, and select Save.
To upload data to Amazon S3, grant the s3:ListBucket and s3:PutObject permissions

- Select the newly created File Location in the Export Data Extension dialog.

An automated activity can be created to schedule a data extraction to the target File Location

- On the TD Console, the Amazon S3 Import Integration v2 could be used to ingest the exported file
